Small storage. Clear choices.
This build uses essential storage to run the app. It has no advertising or analytics cookies. You can separately choose whether to remember interface preferences on this browser.
Essential cookies
Session cookie: the first-party Laravel session cookie, normally named packetwise-session, identifies your signed-in or guest learning session. The current configured session lifetime is seven days, refreshed through use; browser behavior and server cleanup can affect expiry.
Anti-forgery cookie: XSRF-TOKEN supports request security. The app also uses a CSRF token in request headers.
Remember-me cookie: a first-party remember_web_* cookie is set if you select ‘Keep me signed in’. It supports a longer-lived sign-in. Sign out on shared devices.
Blocking essential cookies can prevent sign-in, saving work and syllabus mapping from functioning.
Preference storage
packetwise-storage-choice: records your essential-only or remember-preferences choice and notice version. Remembering this decision prevents the prompt appearing on every visit.
If you opt in, packetwise-interface stores language, reading size, contrast and motion preferences; packetwise-last-lesson and packetwise-topology store a local continuation hint and the editable networking model. These are localStorage entries, not advertising cookies. They remain until you clear them or change your choice.
If you choose essential only, preference changes work for the current page session but these optional values are not retained. Changing to essential only removes the listed optional browser entries. Server-side notes and learning records are governed by the privacy notice, not this browser preference setting.
Changing your choice
Open Cookie & display settings from the footer at any time. Both choices keep the learning material available. There is no ‘accept all tracking’ option because this build does not include optional tracking. Clearing browser storage can end your guest session; export notes you want to keep, or sign in to link them to an account.
Future integrations
Adding analytics, embedded media, advertising or new providers requires a fresh storage review and an updated notice. The current preferences control does not grant blanket consent to future trackers. External reference links open another site with its own policies.
